Christina Carter

Assistant Director – Training Delivery

In her role as Assistant Director of Training Delivery at OUCCAS, Christina Carter provides strategic planning and oversight on the recruitment, onboarding, development, and evaluation of contract trainers, coaches, and producers. In addition to planning and oversight, Christina draws on a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Performance Technology from Franklin University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wittenberg University to create dynamic onboarding and development tools for training professionals.

Since beginning her career in human services training in 1996, Christina has had the opportunity to oversee a variety of statewide initiatives in the areas of learning technology, needs assessment, and distance learning. She developed and implemented a system for individual training needs assessment of public child welfare professionals in Ohio, researched and implemented evidence-based learning design and delivery strategies, and oversaw the implementation of Ohio’s first online learning management system for 14,000 children’s services professionals.

Prior to her work with OUCCAS, Christina worked as an education program manager for The Supreme Court of Ohio’s Judicial College, as a learning manager and instructional designer for the Institute for Human Services, and as a program manager for the Ohio Humanities Council. She has consulted with child welfare training programs in 13 US states, three Canadian provinces, and St. Petersburg, Russia. Christina was the recipient of the 2018 Dan Schneider Award, presented annually to an individual committed to improving the lives of Ohio’s children and families by providing unwavering support for the professional development of Ohio’s child welfare staff toward best-practice ideals.
