Specialist – Substitute Care & Permanency
Amanda Schranghamer is a licensed social worker with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Ohio University. As a content specialist in the Substitute Care and Permanency Division, she oversees the Assessor Series. Amanda completed the University Partnership Program (UPP) at Ohio University, which marked the beginning of her professional commitment to supporting children and families. Her career began as a caseworker for a public children’s services agency, an experience that provided her with valuable insights into the complexities of the child protection system. After becoming a foster care and adoption assessor, Amanda later took on roles as an adoption caseworker and a Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter. She also engaged in the assessment of resource and adoptive parents through the certification and approval process.
In her work with the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program, Amanda has become an expert in the Assessor Series and orchestrated a complete redesign of this training series, which launched in 2024. She conceptualized, promoted, and oversaw the project while authoring thirteen original courses and co-authoring several others. Amanda’s passion for improving the experiences of children and families affected by foster care and adoption fuels her dedication to her work within the training arena.
