Laura Patrasso

Manager – Family & Protective Services

Laura Patrasso is a highly accomplished professional, specializing in the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs for child protection caseworkers and supervisors. With a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Neuroscience from Miami University, Laura has been a key figure in shaping the landscape of child welfare training since 2009.

Laura currently serves as the Manager of the Family and Protective Services Division’s Training Content Team at Ohio’s University Consortium for Child and Adult Services (OUCCAS). In this role, she oversees the development and delivery of learning activities and programs for Ohio’s child protection caseworkers and supervisors. Her responsibilities include leading a team of developers, managing vendor contracts, and maintaining strategic partnerships with key state and county agencies. In addition to her leadership role, Laura has authored and co-authored numerous courses, products, and publications that have been widely recognized within the child protection community. Some of her notable contributions include the Caseworker and Supervisor Core 2.0 Series, The Supervisor Roundtable Series, and various specialized courses focusing on trauma-informed supervision, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and coaching strategies in child protection.

Previously, Laura was a Program Manager at The Institute for Human Services, where she managed various programs including the OCWTP’s Supervisor Training, Distance Learning, and Coaching Programs. She has a proven track record of applying learning science and technology to create impactful curricula.

Laura’s dedication to her field is driven by a passion for improving the outcomes for children and families through effective training and support of those who work directly with them. Her expertise in child protection best practices, project management, instructional design, and universal design for learning continues to influence the next generation of professionals.
