Emily Taylor

Instructional Designer – Family & Protective Services

Emily Taylor is an Instructional Designer supporting the design and development of learning materials in the Family and Protective Services Division at OUCCAS. She holds a Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology from West Virginia University.

Emily’s instructional design experience began at one of the country’s largest animal sanctuaries, where she created a comprehensive and interactive curriculum that equipped supervisors with essential leadership skills to succeed in the animal welfare field.

Her instructional design values include accessibility, inclusivity, and empathy for learners. She prioritizes understanding learners’ emotions, challenges, and motivations when designing learning materials, ensuring they are accessible to all. Emily provides multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Previously, she taught trauma-informed yoga to teenagers in need of emotional support and care by creating safe and inclusive spaces on the yoga mat. Additionally, Emily volunteered as a mentor for a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources, education, and support for individuals struggling with eating disorders.
